Frolicking through the fields

I had to grab some pictures of the kids before the corn fields went crispy and the hay bales were transported out of the fields. Both of these locations were within 2 miles of my house. Thanks, Iowa!

I avoid asking subjects to say "cheese" because it usually produces the worst smiles ever. (Tip: tell them a joke, have them tell a joke, make animal sounds etc. to get natural smiles and giggles). Alas, I was flying solo on this shoot and the kids were tired/hungry/silly and being... well... kids. So I resorted to having them say "CHEESE!" for a few frames. The results were awesome/terrible. Temporary Retirement and Baby L

Wow, it's been over two years since the last post on here! Short story: we moved to Iowa, got immediately pregnant (and sick) and I went into self-imposed retirement until I felt better / had baby / knew where we'd be living next etc. and suddenly it had been 2 years. I have way too many sessions to post so I'll just skip them all and post my baby girls' newborn pictures because I might be a little biased and think that Baby L is the cutest thing in the world ;) Picture overload, you have been warned.

This was the one for her birth announcement (I can't believe she is now 16 months old!):

Our favorite snapshot from the hospital. M and J couldn't get enough of little L and I caught the first of many fights on camera.

The "H" Family

The "H" Family! I had a lot of fun at Duke Chapel last week with yet another family that I am going miss dearly (stop moving everyone!). Here are some early favorites of this lovely foursome.

Really, have you seen a cuter pair of brothers?

The "S" Family

It was so fun to meet up with the "S" family one more time before we part ways after a few fun years at business school. Despite the incredible heat and humidity (oh North Carolina, how dare you!), we got some great shots! Enjoy a few early favorites :)

The D Family

Oh "D" Family... how we will miss you! We had a fun quick photo session at the Duke Chapel right before this lovely family hopped on a plane to their new home. The kids couldn't have been cuter; and isn't Mr. N looking so mature and dashing?? How is he only 2 years old?? Enjoy!

As a fun side note, we happened to be at the Chapel while Kyle Singler was filming his latest "buckets" video. You can see it here, and we witnessed him making 2 shots from off the top of the Chapel. It was AMAZING!
